Overview

Desafío is a reality show in which a number of participants should survive, live together, and compete in 4 different stages, for a big price in money. These contestants are grouped into three teams according to the theme chosen in each season. Social classes, generations, regions of the country and the degree of popularity are the elements used to give identity to these groups. Another one of the characteristics of the Challenge and which encloses the success of this format is that the conditions of life in this competition are not fair. While a group spends its day in a beach house with servants, exquisite delicacies (High Beach), the other group suffers the complete lack of accommodation and food (Low Beach). In this reality, as in real life, the teams would be able to exceed or fall on their comfort levels, depending on the performance in the territorial Challenges.

• Name: Desafío 20-04: La Aventura

  Episode: 61

  It was the first season of the hit reality show. For this they called former participants of Expedition Robinson, and Expedition Robinson: the challenge to integrate the group of survivors, celebrities, were composed by famous people in Colombia and challenging for people chosen at casting.

  Episode: 54

  It was a reality show broadcast by Caracol, in 2005, sequel to the first season was a success; but shares similar characteristics with Survivor, the most important is that competition develops at sites near the sea, are not equal formats thus potential lawsuits by copyright were never carried out.

• Name: Desafío 20-06: Guerra de Estratos

  Episode: 91

  A significant change was made, were not chosen in the same way the participants, but all were chosen by casting based on their social status, with the PRIVILEGED the upper class, the gleaners the middle class and CARRIED the class come down.

• Name: Desafío 20-07: La Guerra de las Generaciones

  Episode: 72

  The reality is focused on the survival of 24 participants on an island (Bocas del toro Panama) further divided into 3 teams of 8 people, which are grouped according to their age or generation. Teams according to their generation are called: Pelados (18-25 years old) Cuchachos (26-38 years old) and Catanos (39-49 years old) who compete as a group in the first stage of the game against other teams.

  They chose 5 teams instead of the usual 3, participants were chosen based on their region of origin.

• Name: Desafío 2009: La Lucha de las Regiones, La Revancha

  Episode: 1

  6 Teams, Los Cachacos, Los Costeños, Los Paisas, Los Santandereanos, Los Vallunos; as in the previous season, and Los Emigrantes, consisting of Colombian International team.

• Name: Desafío 2010: La Lucha de las Regiones, El Brazalete Dorado

  Episode: 1

  This season each region has six participants. Four regions will be disintegrated in the initial stage. Representatives will continue in these regions are chosen by individual competition rather than election by the group, as in the two previous editions. This time every two representatives from each region deleted, plus an additional participant selected among all participants who had been eliminated in the individual competition. Alongside the two regions that were not disintegrated team competed Survivors, composed of representatives of the disintegrated regions.

• Name: Desafío 2011: La Lucha de las Regiones, La Piedra Sagrada

  Episode: 101

  This edition featured three speakers instead of two, as usual. The slabs were removed for security reasons and were replaced by caves. The team of migrants will not be in this edition and will be replaced by the Challengers team, consisting of participants residing in regions of Colombia than those who took part in previous editions. This year they integrated five participants from previous challenges, one for each of the traditional regions of the challenge, competing for three additional quotas.

• Name: Desafío 2012: El Fin Del Mundo

  Episode: 93

  In this Challenge 6 teams competed: Costeños, Cachacos, Antioqueños (in previous challenges they were called Paisas) Santandereanos, Vallecaucanos and for the first time, Cafeteros (coming from the coffee belt).
